Jo Beth Weaver is a native of Moultrie, Georgia (Norman Park) where she lettered in varsity softball, basketball and tennis at Colquitt County High School. She then played basketball and tennis for Abraham Baldwin College where she received her ASED in Science. During this time, she played women’s major travel softball. She turned down a dual scholarship offer in softball and basketball from Furman University to attend UGA and play basketball for the Lady Bulldogs. She received her BSED from UGA in 1985 and was awarded the most outstanding HPE student at UGA award. She also received the highest academic letter winner award at UGA. She received her Masters degree in Health and Kinesiology from Georgia State University in 1997 and her Specialist Degree in Administration from LMU in 2005. Coach Weaver was the head softball coach at North Fulton and North Atlanta high schools for a combined eight years. During that period, her team made five state tournament appearances. Coach Weaver teaches HPE at North Cobb High School in addition to her duties as Head Fastpitch Softball Coach. She was named Georgia High School PE teacher of the year in 2001. In 2003, Coach Weaver was inducted into the Colquitt County Athletic Hall of Fame. She was also awarded two milestones in coaching awards by the National Fast Pitch Association and The Georgia Dugout Club in 2008 for reaching over 300 wins. Coach Weaver’s record is now 382 wins and 172 Losses. The outlook with the 2011 squad is good to reach her 400th Career Coaching Win.

•Coach Weaver is in her 16th year of leading the Lady Warrior fastpitch softball program.
•In 1999, the team accumulated 17 wins, placed 4th in the tough Region 5-4A, 2nd in the Warrior Classic, and 3rd in the Jordan Invitational.
•The Lady Warriors placed first in the Marietta Big Blue Invitational tournament in 2001 and finished 25-13 overall after advancing to the final round of the State Sectionals.
•In 2003, the Lady Warriors finished second in Region 5-5A and recorded a program best 10-1 record. The Lady Warriors started 2004 by winning the Jordan Invitational Tournament in Columbus, and finished the regular season 3rd in Region 5-5A with a 5-3 record. Advancing to State Sectionals, the Lady Warriors defeated #5 state-ranked Collins Hill before losing 1-0 and 2-0, and ended their season with an overall 21-14-1 record.
•Again in 2005, Coach Weaver guided the Lady Warriors through the Region 5-5A Playoffs to the semi-finals of the State Sectional (North) Tournament.
•Finishing 21-12-1 overall, the 2006 Lady Warriors were ranked in the Georgia State top-ten during the season and scored exciting wins over 3 of the higher-ranked teams.
•The 2007 and 2008 seasons were historically two of the best consecutive seasons with the Lady Warriors finishing as Region Runner-Up Champions both years. The teams captured the prestigious Lassiter Invitational Championship by going 6-0 to all state ranked teams. The 2008 team was finally shut out of the state play-offs in a 10 inning game 1-2 loss to an opponent who went to state championship game. Over 10 players went on to play collegiate softball from these two graduating years.
•The 2009 and 2010 seasons were respectable after losing 8/9 starters in 2008-2009. The Lady Warriors fell short by one game each season of making the state play-offs. The 2010 team won the Marietta Invitational Championship by going 5-0.
•In her tenure at North Cobb High School, over 30 of Coach Weaver’s Lady Warriors have gone on to play collegiate softball.
